The second Annual Sales & Operations Planning Summit will head to Berlin on the 12th – 13th October, bringing with it an impressive line up of experts within the S&OP field from around the world. The exclusive 2-day event will focus on business challenges and opportunities taking into account the modern business environment technological developments and the advances of globalization whilst gaining noteworthy contacts through networking sessions.

Following the success of last year’s conference in Prague, This year’s will be packed with new case studies, interactive sessions and a panel discussion examining S&OP, new trends and innovations in S&OP including enhancing forecasting and planning with big data tools.

The first day of the event will be dedicated to the discussions of S&OP best practices, new trends and latest innovations. Jurgen Potoradi, Infineon’s Supply Chain Director, will be deliberating complex supply chains in automotive planning and how to leverage advanced simulation analysis to optimize supply chains. Christian Borel will discuss Merck’s IBP journey key milestones and how the pharmaceutical company manages to improve demand.

In the afternoon Avon’s Global S&OP Director, Timur Gostik, will explain why leadership upgrades are necessary in order to improve S&OP processes. Last up is an interactive session ‘The DNA of S&OP’ where Hugh Williams from Hughenden Consulting will demonstrate how rigour, anticipation and collaboration make the S&OP fully responsive to the unknown. Other contributions of the day include case studies by noteworthy speakers from Seqirus, Infineon, TATA Consultancy, Momentive and Toyota.

The second day of the summit will focus on enhancing forecasting and planning with big data tools. First up is British Telecom’s Head of Inventory Management, Barbara Anderson, who will examine the challenges of S&OP in a conventional demand forecasting environment and the opportunities presented by moving to a demand driven approach as well as discussing BT’s journey and achievement to date.

In the afternoon, Mark Oldridge from Emerson will discuss connecting the functional value chain through SIOP and engaging functional leaders in the design of the SIOP Framework. Holger Kliebe will discuss the transformation of IBP at Grunenthal from regional to global including the challengers in a dynamic environment. The second day will also have contributions by notable speakers from the Lancaster Research Centre for Forecasting and RB.
