      As Design Architect, Computational Designer, and Façade Engineer, Abdulmajid leads multi disciplinary project teams specialised in design innovation and research via algorithmic thinking and computation; Providing strategic, conceptual and technical design services to develop and deliver contextually inspired high performance buildings; Integrating novel systems adaptable to the dynamic context of users, environment, and construction, with special emphasis on form, structure, envelope, materials, and identity.
      With a background in mathematics, architecture, computation, engineering, contracting, and R&D, Abdulmajid’s specialisation encompasses utilising his skills and knowledge to fuse the principles of these sciences into the design from concept to realisation. This includes developing design-todelivery methodologies and setting-up data exchange systems – beyond BIM – in the form of performance and construction manuals to facilitate the development, procurement, and construction process. Abdulamjid has over 14 years of experience working on prestigious buildings of the highest complexity headed by leading practices such as Calatrava, Rogers, Fosters, and Aedas among others.
      Abdulmajid’s main career highlight has been designing the competition winning scheme of the Al-Bahar Towers in collaboration with Arup and spearheading the design team towards completion. The building won Best Innovation Award 2012, offered by the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and was included in the list of Best Innovations 2012 by Time Magazine for its standout dynamic facade that adapts by folding/unfolding following the movement of the sun.
      Abdulmajid lectures about design innovation and technology integration into buildings at leading research institutes and has been interviewed by leading media outlets including the BBC, CNN, and the Discovery Channel. Abdulmajid’s work has been presented at leading schools including the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Columbia University, the Bartlett – University College London, and the Architectural Association.
