Sylvain CaillolSustainable Chemistry Manager Institut Carnot Chimie Balard Cirimat

Research Scientist at CNRS, my research interests include the synthesis of biobased building blocks, monomers and polymers, particularly from vegetable oils and natural phenols/wood chemistry.

My research interest include also the synthesis of thermoset and thermoplastic polymers with low environmental impacts for various applications, such as binders, coatings, foams, composites and latex.

I am also interested in ecodesigned materials such as remendable or self-healing.

IFrom 2005 to 2007 I led Specialty Polymers Group at RHODIA, Aubervilliers Research Center. Polymers for formulations, coatings, cosmetics, homecare and metal treatment applications, related synthesis & process.

From 2004 to 2005 I was Process Manager at Rhodia, located in Plants and Research Center. I worked on process industrialization, process intensification, polluant reduction. Areas : biodegradable solvents and polymers.

Specialties: Teams and projects management. Sustainable chemistry and processes. Polymers (solution, emulsion, free and controlled radical polymerization, renewable resources, recycling…). Process development, intensification, high-throughput.
