      Tomi Henttinen is the founder of the BIM consulting company Gravicon Oy and he works currently as the Director of Research and Development and Senior BIM Consultant in the company. Gravicon provides everything in BIM from modelling to BIM coordination and management. Gravicon has also developed BIM project management system called Modelspace – a web based tool to support Clients in tendering, supervision and maintaining BIM based projects. Since 2009 Tomi Henttinen has been the Chair of buildingSMART Finland and member of the Board in buildingSMART Nordic.

      In the early years of BIM from late 1990’s to early 2000’s Tomi Henttinen was one of the pioneers of BIM in Finland. He was involved with the first real life BIM project with limited IFC data exchange already in 2002. Ever since Tomi has been involved with the most interesting BIM projects and worked as an architect, BIM specialist as well as a software developersupplying tailored BIM solution for these projects.

      After the first pilot projects the knowledge of BIM in Finland has grown significantly and Tomi Henttinen has been one the leaders in this development. The BIM work in projects like Helsinki Music Centre, Performing Arts Centre Kilden in Kristiansand, Norway, renovation of the National Opera in Helsinki, the renovation of the Finnish Parliament and so on have been coordinated by Tomi Henttinen and his consulting team. Over the years Tomi and his team have been involved with more than 50 real-life projects utilizing open BIM and IFC. The mission has always been to make BIM and IFC more accessible to all parties and to create benefits for all of them.
