2nd Annual Aviation MRO Summit and e-Aircraft Summit – Overview.

This November the 2nd Annual Aviation MRO Summit will head to Berlin alongside the e-Aircraft Summit.

These events are co-located as they will emphasize the meaning of connectivity and new technologies that are helping the ever-changing aviation industry in order to push the MRO operations to the next level since the airline industry is achieving record profitability and the global MRO market keeps growing. Additionally, both summits will provide an ideal environment for key decision makers to gather together and discuss important issues, best practices and advances within aviation MRO and e-enabled aircrafts.

The first morning of the 2nd Annual Aviation MRO Summit will discuss maintenance and fleet management. First up is the panel discussion ‘From Condition-based to predictive and prescriptive maintenance.’ Followed by Wolfgang Henle, the Managing Director of the ATB Austrian Airlines Technik Bratislava, who will discuss the key factors on aircrafts winter maintenance. In the afternoon, you will hear from TAP Maintenance & Engineering’s Ricardo Carvalho whose presentation will be about reducing turnaround times and individual costs with repair management services.

Inflight connectivity and operational efficiency will be some of the issues discussed on the first day of e-Aircraft Summit. We will hear from Stefan Wimmer who is Deutsche Telekom AG’s Senior Manager Avionics. Stefan will examine how to stay connected through inflight connectivity in regards to trends and the demands of customers as well as developments in customer loyalty and engagements. Followed by Jean-Marie Begis from Esterline CMC Electronics, who will discuss securing the e-enabled aircraft with reference to a secure networking technology with aircraft life cycle process.

On Day two both events will unite for some noteworthy presentations on MRO and Connectivity, which are some of the key topics for both summits. GE Aviation’s Adam Ward will give a presentation on ‘Using Data and Real-time Analytics for Creating Predictive Maintenance Plan
.’ Followed by Mike Chastain the Global Program Manager at IBM who will be giving a noteworthy presentation on MRO and connectivity.

After the joint segments, AFI & KLM’s, Harmen Lanser, will deliberate the optimization total cost of ownership of the component availability product. Finally, last up on the agenda for the 2nd Aviation MRO Summit is a panel discussion on ‘The future of OEM involvement in the aftermarket
’ with Kelly Cole from GE Aviation.

Whereas the e-Aircraft Summit will hear from Michael Geis and Nils Oehlmann from Aerologic and they will discuss Digitalization of Ops Processes at the e-Aircraft Summit. After lunch, the CEO and Founder of GlobeAir, Bernhard Fragner, will show how to transform an operator to a tech company. IATA’s Dragos Munteanu will give a case study on their approach to paperless aircraft technical operations.
